Windows will eventually need to be replaced, like your roof and patio doors. When choosing new ones, you must consider warranties. They protect your investment against defects and installation errors, and usually vary by contractor and manufacturer. Warranties also say a lot about the quality of your new windows and the reliability of your prospective installer.
At Renewal by Andersen® of Nashville, we install energy-efficient windows with a comprehensive warranty. Read on to learn more about our window warranties.
What Renewal by Andersen® Warranties Cover
Renewal by Andersen replacement doors and windows come with a two-year workmanship warranty from the original installation date. We will fix the issue without additional charges if your new windows malfunction or don’t perform well due to improper installation. However, our limited warranty on installation does not cover jobs by other installers who are not from the Renewal by Andersen team or a certified contractor. It’s the same for the installation or repair of finishing that was not applied to the windows during the original installation.
Fibrex® Material Components
Our unique Fibrex® material possesses the warmth, strength and stability of wood with the low-maintenance features of vinyl. All the Fibrex components of your Renewal by Andersen windows are guaranteed not to rust, flake, blister, peel, pit, crack or corrode, and develop manufacturing defects for 20 years following the initial installation date. This applies to the sash, frame and exterior grilles.
If a Fibrex component of the unit fails due to product defects or installation error, we will either replace the affected parts or repair the issue. These services are valid for the remainder of your limited warranty period.
At Renewal by Andersen, we only install patio doors and windows with energy-efficient and durable glass. The glass in our windows – including High-Performance™ Low-E4® glass, High-Performance Low-E4 Sun glass, High-Performance Low-E4 SmartSun™ glass, High-Performance HeatLock® glass, High-Performance Low-E4 PassiveSun® patterned glass and Finelight™ grilles – come with a 20-year coverage from manufacturing, material and workmanship defects. This warranty extends to the tempered versions of our glass options.
Under normal wear and tear, the glass of our windows is warranted not to develop visibility problems from broken glass caused by manufacturing defects or the early deterioration of the glass or organic seal for 20 years from the date of installation. This warranty does not cover special order glazings, insulated art glass, impact-resistant glass, discontinued glass and glass that are not from Renewal by Andersen.
Our team will go to your home if glass failure happens due to manufacturing, material and installation defects within the validity of your warranty. They will either repair or replace the affected glass.
Exterior Color Finish
Renewal by Andersen installs replacement doors and windows with finishes that will elevate your home’s look. The color finish on Fibrex material exterior components – such as window sills, sash, frame and grilles – are warranted not to fade for 10 years from the original installation date. This exterior finish warranty does not apply to weatherstripping, accessories and hardware. If you encounter defects in your window’s exterior color finish within the limited warranty period, we will refinish the unit or repair the affected component.
Window Components Other Than Glass and Fibrex
The locks, non-electric operators, lifts, hinges, handles, insect screens, balance systems, sash, weatherstripping, frame members and other non-glass components of Renewal by Andersen windows are protected against issues stemming from improper installation and material defects for 10 years from the initial installation date. We will replace or repair the compromised components if they develop problems covered by the warranty.
What It Doesn’t Cover
When purchasing new sliding doors or windows, you should assess the inclusions and exclusions of their warranties. They will not cover all issues that might develop on your windows. Renewal by Andersen is not responsible for issues associated with product modifications or glass shading devices and leaks not caused by manufacturing, material or installation defects. Our warranties do not cover problems caused by adding non-Renewal by Andersen hardware.
Condensation and improper maintenance, such as using razor blades and sanding, are not included in our warranty. It’s the same for water leaks that didn’t result from manufacturing defects or workmanship errors. If you failed to follow Renewal by Andersen’s guidelines on staining and painting the exposed wood components, your windows won’t be under warranty. Other items excluded from our limited warranty include normal wear and tear, accidents and fading furnishings, flooring or window coverings.
